have anyone told you this before?, mix your old shooter with the new "you choose your fate" games together.
im going to use DF: outbreak 2 game for an example EX: you walking down that hallway with the electrician and you need to fix the lights and electricity in the mall, here comes the choosing
" open door slowly and cautiosly"
"let him go first"
"kick the door open"
etc.
then the stroy goes on and yaddayaddayadda then zombies unseen from the shadows jump out, depending from the tools and weapons you scaveged, you can use those weapons to take down the zombies. and depending on how much medicine and ammunition you took, you will only have that much, and depending on how much zombies you have to fight off for each place (like the mall crew vs. zombies will have ALOT of zombies, way too many to finish off or that small room where there is only a few zombies) your chances of survival may vary from impossible to breezy. also depending of who your with (like a small group of people with weapons or an unarmed electrician) may either help you or slow you down or lower your chances of survival. it would be nice if you can use this type of format because alot of people is starting to miss shooting the zombies for themselves :P but people would still love to make their own choices. and you guys can manipulate these ideas into your liking with the other ideas for the third game. :) if you used this plz tell me :)

The guys have food, ammo and medical supplies. Sometimes they loot, but that's not enough to make a whole game (anyway, you could start 3 with a loot mission). But one time, a fire, earthquake or tornado (whatever) destroys their shelter. They have to search a new home.
Or, they find other survivors and have to rescue them. The rescued survivors tell them that millitary personnel built a save evac point and they travel there.
Or the village gets attacked by other survivors.
I have multiple more ideas, so PN me and I'll answer.

how about this 10 years later......
your food and ammo is low.you and your wife must find a new base with food ammo etc.but on your way your wife was taken away by zombies you must find her!!!!!
you can use any ideas you want for the main game =^D

my idea is that the army come to wipe out any one dead or alive and the mission is to escape with your wife and any one else who survives

Start with a new story about a different character.
This can go as far as an loose inmate to a 16 year old playing in a football game when the infection starts.

i say the only real way to actually make a sequal better is to start from someone else who as in the infections story

Before I give my idea, I'd like to say I have loved both your games and I am begging for MOAR! ...So, Ideas...

I believe the plot should be based on a time in the future, maybe 3 years later. I don't know. The people are fairing quite well, considering all elements. But the one point that doesn't seem that important seems more important than any other element... Boredom. Everyone copes except 1 single person, known as the leader, who is near to insanity. He roams around trying to think of what to do, when he tells the others that the infected must all be dead, as such a wild and unintelligent sci-race could possibly survive in a dying planet...

He tries to convince the others to explore the area outside of the secure settlement. Failing dramatically, he secretly gets prepared during the night to run from the settlement, desperately seeking adventure.

The next morning, the group wake up and soon discover the loss of their leader. After looking throughout the settlement, they soon come to the conclusion he has left. Without a leader, the group quickly lose morale and decide what to do. It then becomes apparent. They must find him. Due to the survival skills of yourself, you have been chosen to go. You disagree, thinking you have done enough, but no-one else is up to help, except your wife.

Obviously, you disagree, but she will not listen to you and she is determined to go. 'I have been your burden so many times', she said. 'I must now do something that could be beneficial to our community.' You sigh, then say that she can only go if you go with her. It is agreed. Another person felt he needs to prove himself worthy of the community, and steps up to go too.

After heavy preparation, you are finally ready to go. Harnessing all your courage, you and, wife and your other companion step into the wild. The 3 of you hold GPS to insure you do not lose each other, and to help you find your leader. Obliviously unaware, a rat runs quite unnaturally towards the third member of your rescue team. It bites him ravenously and stuns him briefly. He looks down and stamps on the rat. Just moments later his skin turns white and slowly turns his head completely around... what do you do?

I think I'll leave it there.

(This adds the element of an animal being infected, as many have suggested, and it also adds quite freakish behaviour to the already mad infected...) O_o

Thank you for reading.

I think you should start as a new character.

There's a possibility that the survivors could run out of food so you and others have to go find a new location maybe go through a Carnival, Carnivals are pretty famously used in a couple zombie movies, if not a hospital is also a popular building. Then the gang may run into the military and taken to a safe area where as soon as they arrive into the military base someone there is infected, they may have the option to find a military pilot which has a plane with enough fuel to fly you to a different country. That's all I have at the moment.

one day a small military force of 20 soldiers has survived the outbreak, wants to take your farm, and use it as their base, your given 7 days to find a new place, or they will take it by force, while your searching for a new place, you might find more people to help you against the force, of persuade them into letting you move in with them, if the place is big enough, you may also come across abandoned buildings, and business, that all for you to take occupation of these buildings will be for you to exterminate the infected, and repair any damage done to the structure that has been done to it, before and after the outbreak I am thinking maybe 8 places, 4 occupied, 4 unoccupied

The materials you have been surviving off of have run dry, and you are forced to go and find more. However to your dismay you find that the zombies have been slowly evolving becoming stronger, and more crafty. And after you finally get some more supplies and return back to base, you find that it's been nearly destroyed and that the only survivors are your family. After you escape the base via military helicopter you end up crashing in the middle of New York and end up having to battle your way to Canada getting help from people along the way.

How abput this: The farm is attacked by Mercs who work for an underground company that wants to find a way to control the zombies

Well considering from the internet game DF should the base be destroyed by the behetmoth or something or You know the infected crows something airbourne or something able to crash it down

Choices, choices. The game is all about choices. So why don't you have the choice of having survivors with you? But if you decide to let them tag along, you need to share ammo/food/supplies
.
BETRAYAL!!! Fighting for food or ammo would be a perfectly believable situation in a post-apocalyptic world.

More ways to kill zombies! Not just a bang bang bang its dead. You had a few of these in the previous ones, but nearly all fights should be like that. Creativity makes things interesting.

More weapons.

Make choices come back to haunt you! For example, if you leave a guy to be eaten by zombies, you'll face the same guy again later. This can lead to many moral complications, especially if you're with other survivors. Arguements and all that. "Holy crap it's JIm!" BLAM- "OH GOD YOU JUST KILLED JIM" etc etc. Or you can steal the guns or stuff off him after you kill him.

That's pretty much all i can think of. Sorry if some were more suggestions for gameplay than storyline. Haha. But all feedback is good feedback, right? :D

first of all: i like your df-games very much, but 1 thing could be better

i dont like the fact that thers only one straight way, for example in df2 you could choose to either drive over a zombie or dont. one of the choices WILL lead to death, thats not so good.
you should be able to really choose your way through the game, no trial and error. of course, if your decision is very dumb, then die ;)

for your story: you could make a real "trying to survive the outbreak"-game, in wich somebody has to look for ideal homes, has to defend them, look for supplies and stuff

Maybe you should just leave the "protagonist(cant remember his name) and his wife" story and focus on another person/s experience. Like living the outbreak from another perspective (bunch of friends who were at higschool when the outbreak occurred, a soldier, the president, an old 70-something dude, a father, mother and their 2 months old baby(that would be stressful!), etc etc. Maybe you could even make them meet with our current characters(protagonist and wife) at some point, or even in later chapters.

Theres one thing that i would love. I like the realistic touch of the series, so i think it would be pretty cool if you gave "some" explanation of why the zombies can live for so long after their "food" has drastically run out. Some fancy medical crazy thing would be all right. Or whatever you can think of to make the zombies live for several months/years without eating.

Oh, and on the second chapter i thought you overused a little the "i was just in time, just in time" . Or maybe not, whatever. :D

Thats it, i hope something helped. I really love your style!! This are GREAt works of arts, be proud of them :D :D

I think the farm should be overran and he and his wife must flee looking for shelter.

I't be cool if it had multiple endings.

Consider taking a more introspective approach to how the gathering survives on a day-to-day basis, opposed to just "one day 1000 zombies attacked us".

Part 2 kinda went into this with medicine, but perhaps other types of basic supplies. What about managing the rural fort? What about lumber? Ammunition?

Basically it would be nice to have an episode on less extreme situations and instead focus on to get from day 90 to day 91.

assuming we leave our ideas here, then i say you should say something about continued farm life, they see a single zombie coming after a month after part 2 ended, so they kill it off with a crowbar to avoid more zombies, but then on the horizon they spot a few moving trees, then they see a hoard of zombies in the open field? i think you could take it from there

The new game starts with the farm running low on supplies. Over a radio you hear about a secure army safe zone set up a few miles outside a nearby city. Since the message sounds a week old by the date, you are sent ahead to make sure the safe zone is still there. When you get there, you have to find a way to contact the others via radio.

Maybe at the beginning, you have an option to take one of three people with you: your wife, the father, or the farm hand or some such. Good luck, and hope this helped.
